FUN, FRIENDLY, & REWARDING

School is not the same as if used to be, and may not restore to its normal form anytime soon. Let’s make this process as uplifting, fun, and rewarding for our growing students. 

Encourage them to stay motivated! This encouragement can come in different forms. It can work differently for different students. What worked for your student before the coronavirus pandemic, may not work now. You may need to try new methods of encouragement in order to support them. 

This is so important because it is easier than ever for students to lose motivation to focus on themselves. Maintain the hope and fun for your student. 

What are some different ways I can encourage and support my student? 

• Implement a reward system

  • Example: this could resemble a punch card sheet. Every time your student reaches a goal, reward them with a punch on their punch card. Once they fill out the punch card, they get a fun experience reward. (e.g., extra time on the phone or laptop, ability to choose the show to watch, they pick the meal or menu etc.)

• Reassurance 

  • Sometimes simply reassuring your student every once and a while that they are on a good track is all that is needed. Giving them that boost of confidence can go a long way.
