About RISE

Your guide to learning disabilities.

Rise is a youth-led project dedicated to providing resources to those with learning differences, along with those who support them. Through teaching about learning differences and breaking harmful misconceptions, we hope to create a community in unity for the common goal of equal and equitable opportunities and education regardless of the presence of a learning difference.

At Rise, we encourage those with learning disabilities to rise up to the challenges that come along with living with one. Be proud of the progress, and failure, on the road to your success. This is a community for support encompassing those who are eager to see a change in our educational system to be more inclusive and knowledgeable of the needs of those with learning disabilities.

Make sure to check out our Stand Together page to join our community to bond, connect, and support.

It all started when…

Gia Gambino founded Rise with the frustration of living in a world where the challenges and inequities of the educational systems, globally, affect (and sometimes ruin) the lives of those with learning disabilities because they are not able to get the resources and support they need. Thousands of children around the world go undiagnosed and untreated. This means they are never able to learn and understand school material, and ultimately, unable to live to their full potential. There is a screaming need for government-provided facilities to support these students, and Rise is here to advocate, support, and learn, while on the road to a more inclusive educational system.
